An inspiring porch needs a view to match,
so Barbara added a front garden—first, a slate
walkway edged with boxwoods for structure,
then the colorful choreography of blooms. “I
love color,” she says, “and I want something
beautiful in all seasons.” Her garden reflects
that with a luscious mix of hundreds of plants
that provide both spectacular views and
nonstop bouquets spring though fall. It’s had
the desired effect: “My front porch and flower
garden are my conversation and outdoor living-
area now,” she says.
